What Will Happen Once Wolfram Alpha Starts Crawling The Web?
11:17 PM
I am highly impressed with the way Wolfram Alpha currently displays the result. The slick Ajax driven interface has an ocean of knowledge in its Backyard. The results might sometimes seem pretty irritating when factual searches return mathematical results. I tried searching for the word Madeline on Wolfram Alpha and it returned searches pertaining to Female Name.
Surprisingly it presented with the data that was breathtaking. Quite mathematical at heart, Wolfram Alpha displayed results about US population and mortality rate too.
Lets take a fast forward into the WolfRam Alpha scenario. Once Alpha starts crawling the web, it will be like a prefect which will monitor the web and rate the websites according to the authentiticity. Google on other hand is quite driven and biased by the hocus-pocus of the keyword. There is no assurity that the first website that would show up on Google for the keyword Madeline would be an authentic website or no?
In case you are still wondering what the hell is Madeline? It is a french sweet. :D
Google on one hand might start displaying results about some famous celebrity named Madeline. Google doesnt have its authentic storehouse of information but exploits its Harvard Born Mathematical Algorithm To repute websites and index the URL in its database in order of relevancy of its each keyword.
However, WolfRam Alpha would have its own set of data and will display only the most accurate results on the net amongst the website's that would be indexed on the internet.
How will WolfRam Alpha Penalize Websites?
For now, the clear monopoly of Google as a Search Engine has forced us to clown ourself and our websites for the guidelines laid by the Google which are termed as - Google Webmaster Guidelines. Should a website fail to register itself to these laid down norms the website gets penalized. No! I do NOT mean to say that these guidelines have no weight to them. However, there are bigger issues that Google fails to address in its algorithm for reputing websites and this is Reputing the content on the websites. Ofcourse Content Is King, we all know it and it has been established. However, Google only reputes the content by the quantity of the keyword density and uniqueness and not the QUALITY. Do you not agree with me on this?
You'd never know that whether the top website listed on teh Search Engine Result Pages for the keywords important for a website is relevant or no. How you choose your results is by the Brand name. For instance its an established fact that the websites like Wikipedia is certainly going to display the most original information on the net. And the other websites displayed on the results pages are just a part of the keyword gameplay. Heh! Is it fair?
Wolfram Alpha on the other hand would repute the websites in accord with the relevance of the content on the listed websites. Ofcourse, the results would again be generated by a set mathematical algorithm - Google Algorithm.
Right Results With Lesser Clicks
Try searching for the term body weight on Google and WolfRam Alpha at the same time. You need a click extra or more to review the results on Google, however, WolfRam Alpha displays the results on its results pages in the most comprehensive manner under set themes.
To me is seems, that as Alpha will start crawling the websites the snippets it will prepare would also have the exact on page location of the most logically related content on a particular webpage listed for the searched keyword. For now, I did not need to visit Wikipedia or any other Ad Word sponsored results which would have landed me up on a sales page selling a promising Weight Reduction formula. Alpha displayed a calculator and all the facts one needs to know about the human body weight along with the stats of the same with one click.
Be it precision in search, quality of the websites listed and a strong ethical reputational system - once Wolfram Alpha starts crawling the internet for indexing the websites in accord of there relevancy in its database. It will definitely pose a good fight to Google who's Mathematical Algorithm is more monetized and biased with the keyword monopoly system. What do YOU think about it?
Certainly as of now, The Computational Knowledge Engine poses no threat to Google. But future of Search Engine Market Niche and Internet Marketing experts practices would heavily be poised on the way WolfRam Alpha evolves.
I look forward to your coments on Future-WolfRam Alpha Vs. Google....?!
